Tekmar Gateway Driver
Crestron Home control for a Tekmar 486 gateway. Internet is required for both this driver and the Tekmar app to reach the gateway.
Internet required
Internet is required at both the Crestron Home processor and the Tekmar 486 gateway. If either loses internet, new readings and control through this driver stop until the connection returns. The Tekmar app also needs the gateway to have internet: without it, the app cannot receive fresh readings or send changes. The driver relies on the gateway's cloud access and supports the readings and controls the gateway exposes for compatible devices.
Local Tekmar thermostats continue to operate independently of this remote connection.
Find the drivers in Crestron Home Setup
In Pair Devices, select the room and add the driver from the locations below. For an existing driver, use Check for Driver Update.
Drivers > HVAC > Tekmar
In the Crestron Home app, open the Tekmar tile and use Settings > Advanced Settings > Sign In. Enter your Tekmar login, then use Choose Building and Confirm Building in Advanced Settings.
License Manager: Drivers > License Manager > Titan Technology > Titan License Manager.
When activating a purchased license, select Systems > Add system on the Titan website. Copy the automatically displayed Registration Code into License Manager’s System Code field and press OK. After assigning licenses to the System, select Refresh licenses.
Control method
The driver uses a direct, authenticated connection from the Crestron Home processor to Tekmar's cloud service over HTTPS. It reads connected zones and sends supported setpoint and thermostat-mode changes. Available controls depend on the device and gateway. It does not scrape Tekmar web pages for device data or control.
Compatibility
This driver is made only for Crestron Home. It is not a Crestron SIMPL driver.
A Tekmar 486 Internet Gateway is required. Compatibility is based on the capabilities each connected Tekmar device reports; the models below are confirmed.

- Setpoint model 162 as a reduced-capability zone
- Snowmelt model 654 with read-only status

Temperature changes: Allow about 10 seconds after changing a temperature for the change to register on the thermostat.
Install or update in Crestron Home Setup
- Open Pair Devices, select the room, and add the driver from the catalog location listed above.
- Open the Tekmar tile in the Home app, sign in under Settings > Advanced Settings > Sign In, then choose and confirm the building.
- For an existing driver, use Check for Driver Update, then test the controls.
When you are ready to buy, create an account or sign in, add License Manager, register your system, purchase and assign its licenses, then select Refresh licenses. License Manager normally checks daily. Refresh requests an update now; keep the processor online and allow a few minutes for confirmation.
